RADAR Festival 2026
09-07-2026
24-25 JULY 2026
Varna, Bulgaria
13-th festival edition will take place from July 24 to 26, when we will transform the beautiful courtyard of the Archaeological Museum into a shared musical space where jazz, neoclassical, electronic, and improvisational music intertwine naturally. Once again, RADAR Festival 2026 brings together some of Europe’s most interesting contemporary musical voices on one stage, united by their desire to explore new musical directions. This year, the festival will highlight the significant presence of women in the international music scene. Performers include the British soul and jazz sensation Ayanna Witter-Johnson; the composer, pianist, and singer Lisa Morgenstern, who co-authored the music for the hit Netflix series The Empress and was awarded an International Emmy; and the Danish cellist and composer Josefine Opsal, who will deliver a captivating performance. The program also features Dimitar Gorchakov’s original music, which intertwines jazz, folklore, and electronics, as well as Paul Jarre and Jim Black’s free jazz improvisations with an indie rock flavor. The highlight of the festival will be the premiere of Dimitar Bodurov’s project D-tonator, which combines classical composition and electronic music. A string quartet from the world-famous Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam will participate in the performance. Summer evenings dedicated to music and discovering something new await us. Come share them with us under the stars!
